Samini, a resident of Seren Tengah village Rt Tiga Rw Lima, Gebang subdistrict, Purworejo regency, central java, pedals her Pedicab every day, in order to earn rupiahs to provide for her family. She has become a Pedicab driver for almost a year. It is because her husband is ill and needing money for medication, while her four children also need money for School.
Every day, Samini must wake up at five in the morning to get passengers. Riding on her Motor pedicab, Samini usually station herself before Purworejo great mosque. She goes back home at five in the afternoon, after she earns some money.
Samini admitted that she does it all to provide for her family, especially her children, who still want to go to School. That is why, she is determined to get them all to school, even to university.
Samini is a proof that women can also become a family’s backbone. Although, oftentimes, it happens due to life circumstances.
