Commemorating earth day in april twenty-second, can be done in many ways. Bunga Bangsa Ceria Imogiri playgroup has their own way to celebrate the day. The students of the Playgroup were invited to bring themselves closer to the nature, as well as conducting “Go Green” actions.
Tenths of students of Bunga Bangsa Ceria playgroup were taken to bedog river flood plain in Kasongan tourism area, Bantul, in Friday noon. They did not come there to learn to make pottery, but instead, They came to see directly various living creatures living in the river and its environs, as well as their functions in life. Aside from that, they were also introduced to environmental damage threat, which was delivered in a theater performance.
The theater actors demonstrated the Cool and Green nature suddenly changes with deforestation. The earth becomes hot, and the ecosystem in it is threatened, thus, necessitating the needs of forest saving, to hinder global warming.
Head of Bunga Bangsa Ceria playgroup, Yuli Suwondo, said that children are purposefully introduced directly to the environment, so that it will be easier for them to understand and apply the lesson on the importance of earth saving. Thus, the concept will be ingrained in their self, and can be applied in the daily life.
