Association of Yogyakarta cantonese residents, perwacy, in friday evening, held an entertainment night of perwacy social gathering, in Graha Sarina Vidi, Yogyakarta. The routine event, other than being members meet event, it was also for holding a social service. They provided grants in symbolic manner, to schools for the disabled (slb), and Merapi eruption victims in several subdistricts.
Perwacy gathering which is held every eight months, was attended by hundreds of members, and several members of Yogyakarta City government. in the event, a social service was also held, by providing support of sewing machines to SLB two Bangunharjo, and brick molds to Merapi eruption victims in Pakem, Cangkringan, Sleman, and code, Yogyakarta. Aside from that, Perwacy also held free medical examination in several villages. Tun Yulianto, as head of Perwacy gathering, hoped that the granting of supports can raise the spirits, of Merapi Victims.
Participating in the event, is deputy mayor of Yogyakarta, Haryadi Suyuti. He appreciated the social event held by perwacy.
Members’ enthusiasm were apparent, when the event was graced by performance from a dancer group from Semarang, and Calung Malioboro artists. Perwacy itself now has around six hundred members in all over Yogyakarta. One of the Perwacy-made institutions, SLB Yapenas, is able to produce independent students, who earn for themselves with self-made handicrafts.
